Health & Movement Coaching
All of these (and more) are reasons for health and movement coaching. Health and movement coaching blends performance coaching with physical therapy (physiotherapy) to help you find a definition of health that works for you. Health does not have to be a number on the scale or your cholesterol levels. Health is so much more dynamic than that. Health can look like going up the stairs easily, returning to a sport or activity you love, or playing with your children or grandchildren. Health can also look like feeling confident that you can properly take care of yourself and manage symptoms related to a chronic illness. It is different for every person and evolves throughout our lives. By understanding what it would mean for you to feel healthy, to feel good in your body, you can break down the goals to achieve that.
Achieving this may look like creating new habits and finding strategies to fit it into your busy schedule. It could also look like learning about your body and getting an individualized workout plan to prevent injuries and get back to your chosen activities. No matter what you need to meet your goals, health and movement coaching will always be personalized to you.
Your first coaching evaluation is a complimentary session where you can discuss what your goals may be, and Dr. Sarah performs a virtual evaluation of your functional movements to see where your strengths and weaknesses are. After that, you can schedule coaching visits to address these areas and start working towards your goals. Coaching will help you to identify the resources needed to meet your goals, help you establish and implement a new routine, negotiate obstacles as they arise and address them in real-time, and work with you until you have met your goals.
